Indiana QB Lewis reinstated to team (AP)
Indiana quarterback Kellen Lewis was reinstated to the team Monday after being suspended for about four months. The school never explained why Lewis was suspended in March, but coach Bill Lynch said his star player did what was necessary to return to the team. "Kellen has worked very hard and reached all the benchmarks we set for him," Lynch said in a release.


Florida State OL Bellamy out for season (AP)
Florida State's inexperienced offensive line took a hit Tuesday when projected starting guard Evan Bellamy announced he'll miss the 2008 season because of a blood clot. The 19-year-old Bellamy was hospitalized Friday for treatment on the clot in his lower left leg. He will remain on medication for several months, and won't be available to play.


Louisville's Guy shot, still in hospital (AP)
Louisville's Trent Guy remained hospitalized Monday, but Cardinals coach Steve Kragthorpe said the wide receiver was in good spirits as he recovered from being shot in the back. Guy, 20, was shot outside a parking garage near a club around 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, but was up and walking around at University Hospital following surgery to repair the wound.


Louisville dismisses WR Spillman (AP)
Louisville wide receiver JaJuan Spillman has been dismissed from the team following his second arrest in 18 months. Coach Steve Kragthorpe announced the dismissal Sunday, three days after Spillman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, carrying a concealed weapon and having no insurance.


Vols P Colquitt pleads guilty to DUI (AP)
Tennessee punter Britton Colquitt will spend 24 hours picking up litter and lose his license for a year after he pleaded guilty Monday to drunken driving. Colquitt, 23, was charged Feb. 17 with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. He also received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, a $350 fine and court costs, a 24-hour detention in jail and must attend DUI school.


South Carolina reports 9 NCAA violations (AP)
South Carolina's athletic department reported nine NCAA secondary violations in the past six months, including one when a staffer bet dinner on a game not involving the Gamecocks. "I don't even know if it was a college game," athletic spokesman Steve Fink said Thursday. The violation took place Jan. 22 and was considered the most serious one of those detailed in South Carolina's report.


Georgia DE Lemon suspended after arrest (AP)
Georgia defensive end Michael Lemon was suspended from the team Thursday after he was charged with punching a student and breaking his eye socket. Lemon, a sophomore third-stringer, was charged with misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated battery. He was released on $2,500 bond from Athens-Clarke County jail.
